Winter Wonderland Extravaganza 2010 - Liquid & Envy Maidstone, Weds 1st December 2010.

Maidstone braves the cold for our launch; an evening of fashion, entertainment and charity fund raising in aid of Up the Yukon's chosen charities Help for Heroes and Marie Curie Cancer Care

The Affection For You ranges were officially launched at Liquid and Envy nightclub, Maidstone on Wednesday December 1^st 2010 with our Charity Winter Wonderland Extravaganza.

There was no business like snow business and the show went ahead despite the appalling conditions. Guests were treated to an evening of entertainment, which included a professional catwalk show, a charity raffle, magicians, dance groups and singing acts, with performances by The Hot Honeyz and Britain’s Got Talent 2008 finalists Milton Keynes Dance Troop, Nemisis.

The Up The Yukon canoeists are five friends from Maidstone. They hope to break a Guinness World Record next June 2011 when they canoe the River Yukon, from Canada to Alaska, in order to raise £2 milliion for their chosen charities; Help For Heroes and Marie Curie Cancer Care. The journey will cover 3185 kilometres of rugged wilderness and will take the canoeists approximately 60 days to complete, to keep an eye on their progress and offer your support, please visit: www.uptheyukon.com

So Many Happenings in So Little Time!!!

Its been a while since our last blog and so much has happened... 


Our business focus has developed and we are now a Lingerie & Pamper Retailer, complete with a new logo: 

Our lingerie range is now smaller but perfectly formed and we have added cosmetics, pamper hampers, pamper parties and pamper treatments to our previous offerings. 

Our official launch event will be a Winter Wonderland Extravaganza held at Liquid & Envy, Maidstone on Wednesday, 1st December 2010. Angie & I took our first 'affection' trip to Dagenham Market today, and we're now more excited than ever about our first stall, opening on Sunday 10th October 2010. 

The market is absolutely buzzing and we saw lots of lovely bargains... However, in the name business research we refrained from splurging, settling for a burger and a 2 new beds for our pooches instead (which have gone down a treat!!).

Came back very excited, our stall is set to be amazing and we've no doubt our stock will rock - Come and see for yourselves!!

The affection blog fish (see below) have officially been named:

Yellow Fish - Bubble

Orange - Gurgle

Red 1 - Purky

Red 2 - Lurky

Green - Nemo

Silver - Sparkle

A big thank you to Jessye, our 8 year old fish namer, who also wrote the following short story (with her lovely mummy) to mark the occasion... Enjoy!

The Fish That Got Away - By Jessye aged 8

One wet day Gurgle the fish was swimming slowly around his fish tank, looking rather glum. Bubbles swam up to him and said "What's wrong Gurgle me old mate?" 

"I just feel trapped and want to see and explore the world, I want to live in the deep blue ocean." Replied Gurgle.

So Bubble called a meeting with the other fish in the old boot at the bottom of the tank. 

They all attended, Gurgle, Bubbles, Purky, Lurky, Nemo and Sparkle. Bubble explained how Gurgle was feeling and that he wanted to live in the deep blue ocean.

All the fish agreed to help and they all actually felt the same way, so they all put their flippers together and mastered up a fishy plan.

They knew that their owner cleaned out the tank once a week, so they made it as dirty as possible. 

The day finally came for the tank to be cleaned and the owner transferred the fish into a jug of water.

Bubble shouted "SWIM!!" and they all swan pushing the jug towards the window.

Luckily the owner lived by the sea so, once the jug toppled off the window ledge, the fish landed on the shore.

Sparkle shouted with her last breath "this is it guys, waddle with all your might!"

It was hard, tiring and dangerous but they made it to the sea. 

They swam about so fast with excitement. "We did it guys, we did it, we made it to the deep blue!" Shouted Lurky.

Once they settled in they decided to find some beds for the night. They found an old shipwreck whilst looking for new beds.

They bumped into a lot of little fishes and they made friends with them and played fishy tag.

Gurgle was so happy and said "this has been the best day of my fishy life and I can't wait to spend the rest of it here with you guys."

Hello Blogger.com!

Well this is officially affection's first blog (yay!) Lets start with a little intro and some background information.


One half of affection is Angie, my dear friend and a multi-talented superwoman... Currently running her own beauty and hairdressing salon plus an online shop, alongside her hubby's businesses and whilst being mummy, wifey and general domestic goddess.


The other half is me... Ana. Before becoming self employed within the wedding industry a year and a half ago, my background was business services  - I now sell bespoke wedding rings and am a bridal coach. I also got engaged recently, so exciting plans are underway for our big day in 2012!


Angie and I will be launching our underwear range this Autumn and thought starting a blog to monitor our progress and build up our brand was a must... We will try to keep you entertained with our stories along the way.
